We rate the novel To Kill a Mockingbird 7 white camellia's out of 10 white camellia's. We rate this novel like this because it had a interesting story line and it kept you INTRIGUED. for example when jem, dill, and scout were trying to get boo radly to come out. this was INTERESTING because they were trying the CRAZIEST things just to see boo Radly. Another REASON this was interesting was because when bob ewell was trying to tarnish jem and scout on their way home. this was INTERESTING because it kept the reader on the edge of their seat because it was making the readers feel what the CHARACTER was EXPERIENCINg. the down side to this novel is that coming to the ending it became less interesting. for example in the las few pages when scout was coming home from boo radley's house the story ended with how the reader would expect for the book to end like. The novel also made it relatable to current events that people have faced, will face, and are facing now.
The details and such small aspects that have a large significance is just like the real world, those small details people IGNORE sometimes are the most important and the novel really brought that meaning through and how us as humans sometimes show less then we are such as the white camellia and the red geranium which signified foreshadowing of what would happen which made the book even more intriguing and made it a cliff hanger. WHen suggesting a favorite character, we would have to say scout. scout has a mind of her own and definitely expresses it throughout the novel.. the symbolism and foreshadowing is absolutely magnificent! The novel makes it feel as if you were in the time period which makes the novel unique above all!
regarding the outstanding work by harper lee, the novel could've included an ending readers wouldn't expect besides leaving it off as a cliffhanger. We felt that the novel could've included the reactions of the ewell's after the incident of bob ewell and jem. we think this because this event was a huge turning point to the story line. Also we think that there should be some more CONTROVERSY BETWEEN the tom robinson case because the whites treated the blacks terribly and if there was a type of defense they had, it would have been more INTERESTING.
The AMAZING EFFORT put in to kill a mocking bird payed off.. The book had a good story to it about how Jem broke his arm and how it happened. Harper Lee did not make the story BORING about how he broke his arm, instead she used what the time was like in the 1930's. The book kept us entertained and wanting to keep reading and it was very interesting. The book overall was very good and very interesting and it helped us LEARN. That is what we think of To Kill A MOckingbird.
