Mad Dog
in the book there was a mad dog that was inside the town and ROAMING the streets. so atticus finch had to shoot the dog to make sure it WOULDN'T hurt anyone. the mad dog was a symbol that tom robinson was going to die soon. So Harper Lee had some FORESHADOWING for toms death. it was very clever for Harper lee to include this in the novel because its not easy to detect. but if you do you will understand the book much better. In conclusion this was a strong PIECE of symbolism.
Red Geranium

The love shows the love mayella had for tom. the hate shows the hate bob ewell had for tom. and lastly the blood is a foreshadow of toms death and maybe bobs.
The Snow Storm
the snow storm that had happened in maycomb is almost IMPOSSIBLE to have OCCURRED in real life. when harper lee put this in this book she put the snow in it to represent white supremacy. what this was FORESHADOWING was that their was an event that was going to happen later on the BOOK. This was going to include the people discriminating the black SOCIETY of maycomb. This was also going to include the whites PRETENDING to be better than the blacks and judging the Blacks.
White Camellia
The White Camellia is a beautiful flower which makes an appearance in "To Kill A Mockingbird". The flower brings significance to Maycomb's illness which is Racism. The white Camellia is heard to be in Mrs.Duboses garden in which Jem Finch destroys. After her last moments she fixes a box for Jem which includes a White Camellia. The White Camellia symbolizes Mrs.Dubose wanting to pass on white supremacy to a younger generation and to follow into Maycombs undetected illness of prejudice and racism. The White Camellia also appears to symbolize Jem re-growing the Racism with his innocence of not knowing the meaning behind the Camellia.
